ConstantQ - Water-based Plasma Thruster
The patented ConstantQTM thrusters use pulsed electrostatic acceleration and a virtual cathode to create thrust from water vapor. No neutralizer is needed as the exhaust is inherently neutral. The thruster is exceptionally compact (2x smaller than competitors) and power-efficient (10x less power than competitors) without reducing thrust or fuel- efficiency. Tevosol is a medical device company developing EVOSSTM (Ex-Vivo Organ Support System), a portable and affordable warm perfusion machine about the size of the cold storage cooler. By presenting a naturally functioning organ for complete evaluation, EVOSS will help surgeons transplant more organs from more donors. The company recently completed a human safety and proof-of-concept trial, salvaging 12 donor lungs from 12 donors– who had been completely ruled out–and completing 12 successful transplants to save 12 lives. In practice, EVOSS centers could double or triple transplants by tapping into the 80% of donor lungs that currently go to waste.
